When in situations of stress we wonder if there is anymore to give. We can be comforted to know that God, who knows our capacity perfectly, placed us here to succeed. No one was foreordained to fail. Let us remember that we were measured before and were found equal to our tasks. When we feel overwhelmed, let us recall the assurance that God will not over-program us; he will not press upon us more than we can bear.

Labor Day Super Weekend!

Daddy and Reese waiting for the next float
Lily in the parade... she had that waving thing down!

Lily and Daddy playing in the hotel room
Reese planking! (If you don't know what planking is, go look it up on youtube)

This past Wednesday afternoon, we left for Ogden for a couple of days to go visit some friends up there. We got there later that night so we just went straight to the hotel and called it good for the night. But not before Todd and Lily could have a pillow fight... hehe. Then the next morning we got up and went to see our friends. As a group we went and had lunch in downtown Ogden and then headed to Boondocks in Kaysville. It was so fun! There was hardly anyone there on a Thursday afternoon so no waiting in lines, just non-stop fun. That night we went to a little Greek restaurant named Andys that had DELICIOUS Greek food. I had never really had Greek food before, but this stuff was awesome!
The next morning we got ready to go and made our way south. First we stopped by temple square and toured the conference center with Lily. It was kind of fun to see it through her eyes for a little bit. Then we headed to the visitor centers and had Lily touch the temple. By then it was almost 1 so we met up with our friends again and went to another delicious restaurant named Settebello. If you are ever in SLC I STRONGLY suggest you hit this place up. It is basically just authentic Italian pizzas and there is a gellato place right next to it, can't get much better than that!
Next we got to visit some friends of our who recently had a baby in American Fork. He was adorable and it was so fun to just sit and visit for a little bit admiring how much they had grown. They are heading out to Penn State at the end of the month, and we will definitely miss them! Have fun Jimmy and Mikensi!
Finally it was around 4 and the Friday of Labor Day weekend in Utah County... it was time to get moving! Once we made it through the traffic we decided to hit up the Santiquin Barn. We got a few cookies some original soda and we were on our way again. All in all it took us about 9 hours to get home from Ogden on Friday but it was nice to not be in a rush.
Saturday we added 8 more trees to our landscaping. We're so excited to see something other than weeds in our yard. Monday was Labor Day and our County Fair Parade. Since Lily is in a dance troop now she was in the parade. It was so fun to see her in the back of the truck waving, and I have to say, I felt a little strange because she was so grown up. It was kind of a gut check that she is no longer a baby. They even put lipstick on her, and I about broke down and cried right there... but luckily I kept it together! The rest of the day was getting back into routine of cleaning and grocery shopping. It was fun to have such a long weekend and see so many good friends and family. We especially loved having Daddy home and being able to spend some time with him!

You were in Salt Lake the same weekend as us! I'm sad I didn't know that. Although we didn't get in until Friday night, so I guess you were there right before us. Anyway. I just thought that was cool. You guys are great!
