When in situations of stress we wonder if there is anymore to give. We can be comforted to know that God, who knows our capacity perfectly, placed us here to succeed. No one was foreordained to fail. Let us remember that we were measured before and were found equal to our tasks. When we feel overwhelmed, let us recall the assurance that God will not over-program us; he will not press upon us more than we can bear.

The Poll

Ok so I posted that poll up about the elliptical and many of you have said it's a bad idea to buy one. I would like to know your opinion about that. Let me know why you think it's a bad idea. The reason we're thinking about buying one is because I LOVE the elliptical. I hate running and doing workout videos, but I could be on the elliptical for a good hour and love it. But if you have some good reason for me not buying one, I would love to hear your opinion! Thanks!

I remember you saying that you didn't have room for an elliptical. Also, I think you should put away the money from your tax return into a short-term savings account, so that if you do move up to Provo/Salt Lake area, you won't be as in shock about the crazy insane high prices up here :)

Yo, YO! Just wanted to say that I agree with Janell's comments:). You can wait to buy an elliptical until after you are a little more stable and settled. Jason and I have thought about buying one, but decided to wait also. I can understand why you would like one! For now, you could try walking. Walking is actually great exercise:)

Christie, not to be nosey but how big is your tax return going to be? Is it big enough that you could buy the elliptical and put some into savings? If so, then I say go for it! You need to spoil yourself a little bit. You should be getting a pretty nice tax return this year thanks to Lily. :) I would think you'd be able to do both, but then again I don't know what else you were planning on doing with it. I don't know. I say go for it.

I'm not exactly sure but yeah, it's gonna be pretty good. Ellipticals are between $200-300. Not for the top of the line, but good enough to get a good work out. We're still weighing out options. Once we go do our taxes, we'll get a better idea of what our return will be, but I've finally got motivation to lose weight. We'll weigh our options though and I like the idea of having some more in savings for when we move, but I can't go walking because of the weather, and there is only so much you can do with a stroller attached to you... I'm trying some other things right now and seeing if I like them or not.

i don't know WHY i voted against it. jimmy made me do it!! jk. um, we just think that there is something better you can do with the money. i'm such a weirdo and don't wanna say SAVE it, but that's probably what we'll do. we have grad school coming up and a baby on the way, so we're in that mind frame of: SAVE MONEY! i highly doubt we'll spend a penny of our tax returns. i donno, maybe something will come up and you will want to spend it on that instead?? or maybe you should use it on moving expenses. moving can get pricey. wow, i am rambling...

This is Brittany I think it may be a good idea to get one and I work for a spinal surgeon and we tell our patients to get on one because its better than running for your back. But like everyone has said, SAVE MONEY!

Maybe you can get a used one on craigslist or tbay. I think that if you really are motivated to use it than buy it! If you think you might flake out (like I always do) I know that SNAP (?) excersize place in town lets you get free or discounted gym memberships when you volunteer in the daycare. Talk to Diane Bealer about that.
