When in situations of stress we wonder if there is anymore to give. We can be comforted to know that God, who knows our capacity perfectly, placed us here to succeed. No one was foreordained to fail. Let us remember that we were measured before and were found equal to our tasks. When we feel overwhelmed, let us recall the assurance that God will not over-program us; he will not press upon us more than we can bear.

Why even buy toys?!

My dad took us to Costco on Tuesday, and while I was cleaning up the boxes from our purchases, Lily decided she wanted to play with them. I had some really old fruit snacks, and she seriously played with those for at LEAST an hour. She was so funny! I don't think I'm going to even buy her any more toys, just boxes from Costco!

The Cruise

The Ship The "Elation"!
Waiting to embark in San Diego! Oh it's so beautiful there!
The view as we took sail! Talk about beautiful!
Elegant night! We looked good!
Ensenada, Mexico!

La Bufadora, a blow hole located near Ensenada. It was so cool, but it was REALLY difficult to get a good picture of that.
Todd and a 100% native of Mexico. He had some cool dancing and music going on!
Playing massive Chess, Todd tore it up!
The infamous folded towels. We had a seal the first night, an eskimo the next and then this dog the last night we were there. It was fun to see the different things they had.

We had such a blast! We fell in love with being on a cruise. The price was right and we are already planning our next cruise! It's been way to long since Todd and I spent that much time alone together. It was much needed and such a great trip. We definitely missed Lily, A LOT! She was excited to see us when we got back, which was great! If you guys are ever thinking about going on a cruise, DO IT! But you want to go to in like September or October because it's MUCH cheaper!

Lily's Party!

It was so funny, she was really fussy until we brought the cake in and started singing, I think she knew all the hype was for her! Her personality is so funny!
The beautiful Princess Cake! I loved it!
Her demolishing her cake! Man it took her a second to really figure it out but after a few bites, man she started shoving it all in her mouth! It ended up being quite the mess!
She drank almost this whole thing after the cake! All that sugar caused some internal freaking out I think!

This was here enjoying her spoils! She got a few other things that she absolutely loved! It was a perfect party and was a lot of fun! Most of her friends were here and had a blast playing with the balloons and her toys as well! We definitely had fun with her first birthday party! Her birthday isn't until Monday, but I just want to post some things about her for my sake!
*She LOVES jewlery! Especially diamonds, her poor future husband!
*She is still just crawling and doesn't seem too interested in walking, but hopefully her new toy will assist her in that
*She loves playing with friends and is a very social little girl.
*Her new favorite toy is her dancing toy from Uncle Kris
*She LOVES to read books! Whenever she is fussy, I can read her a book and she would be completely content!
*She can go up and down stairs and even knows to turn around before she starts.
*She will eat about anything you put in front of her, which I am happy about. Some of her favorites is green beans and ice cream. hehe
*She has four teeth, two bottom and her two eye teeth on top. She looks like a little vampire! (Hopefully it'll stay that way til halloween)

Lily in the car, she was so happy... ha ha
Todd having a hot dog eating contest with our Cousin Cole!
Lily in the swing! She loved it!
Out on the 4-wheeler! Oh I love going with family who have ATVs. So much fun! Lily was a fan!
She was sagging a little, but happy all the same!
My Dad's family and their spouses! It was our family reunion because on the 15th of this month, it's my Grandma's 80th birthday. From L to R goes my mom and dad, Uncle Butch and his wife Debbie, Uncle Pete and his wife Deanne, Grandma, Aunt Ann and husband Ron, and Aunt Kathy and her husband Dave.
Lily checking out her candy from the reunion! This weekend was such a blast! We had a really good time and a great end to a summer!

The house!

The front room! Yes it has a bay window, we love it! We're getting furniture at some point hopefully soon!
Our kitchen, it's messy right now, but I still love it!
The back yard! Holy Cow we have a lot of work to do this picture doesn't even do it justice!
This is our entertainment room! Like the fence? We sure do!
Our laundry room. With our beautiful new washer and dryer! Thank you earnest money! hehe
The front view of the house! I love it! It's wonderful!

We're in!

Well it's official, we've moved! We don't live in apartments any more! YAY!!!!!!!!! I HATE living in apartments! It's so nice to have something to call my own! I don't have any pictures because I don't think I have unpacked my camera yet, but when we get there, I will take pictures. Plus we're getting new furniture but it'll probably be a month before that gets here too, so even if I do take pictures, it won't be the finished product. We're loving all the space and are still figuring out all the stuff we have to do that landlords just took care of before now... Well Lily just woke up so I should go get her, but if any of you are headed down this way and need a place to stay, we're open! hehe

Who does she look like more?

We found our wedding video last night, and we were watching it and I started thinking, who does Lily look like more? I would love your opinion on this one!

Friends!

Vanessa and Lily
Yesterday we watched our friend's girls so they could go to the Oquirruh Mountain Temple Dedication. They have a 3 year old named Brooklyn and a one year old named Vanessa. Lily and Vanessa are such good friends! They LOVE each other! It was fun having them and playing with them for a couple hours yesterday. It's always nice to have friends for Lily to play with at home. Especially when they are so good and like us as well! He he

Talk, Talk, Talk, Talk!

So recently Lily has become MUCH more talkative! She is constantly jabbering on and on and on to herself! Sometimes it seems that she is talking to me and I act as though she's telling a great story. It's actually starting to sound like she's saying words though. Last week we were watching a Baby Einstein video about neighborhood animals. When they were showing a Cat, she repeated them. Then when they showed a dog, she repeated them. It was CRAZY to see that! She doesn't much repeat me, unless I say Daddy. She'll say Daddy all the time. Go figure, he's not around all day. But if I ask her where's daddy, she knows exactly who I'm talking about and looks straight at Todd. It's fun that we are able to communicate more now that she's understanding more. I do love hearing her jabber all the time, she's so funny!

Just Close Already!

So everything so far has gone well with getting our loan and all that fun stuff settled for our house. We're getting a USDA loan which basically means we're getting an AWESOME deal! Well they sent it up this week to get it approved by the state this week, and come to find out, their system has been down for days, and our loan is right in the middle of all that! They were already backed up 10 days, so now it may even take longer! It's so ANNOYING! Hopefully we'll get everything taken care of by the end of the month because that's when we need to be out of our apartment. It'll get there, we're just impatient! hehe

IT'S OFFICIAL!

We are going cruisen! We are so excited! Originally we were going to be going on this cruise with Liv Sxinney but then they decided to cancel it for the company, but we're still going because we deserve to! Hehe it's basically our anniversary gift to one another. We got a REALLY good deal for a cruise. For three days, it was $258 a person. That is EVERYTHING included. I can't believe how excited I am for this. We've never gone on a cruise and it will be VERY nice to get away just the two of us. My parents are going to watch Lily for us and it's going to be amazing! I love them! It isn't until Oct. 16-19 but it gives us something to look forward to!

Today, Todd and I attended a funeral for a 14 year old boy in our ward. Last Tuesday, this boy had taken his own life. As we walked through the line to the viewing and on into the chapel, I couldn't help but hold on to Lily just a little bit tighter. Todd is in the YM presidency and heard about what had happened soon after it happened. It amazed me how much this event has really had an impact on me, because I had never really met the boy. I watched his family as they shook everyone's hands while wiping their own eyes of tears. I couldn't help but think of the pain of burying your own child. The anguish that would cause. There are a lot of sad things to this story, but it has taught me a lot. I need to appreciate that I can hold Lily whenever I want. I need to take advantage of every moment I have with her. I know that Heavenly Father has a hand in everything, even such tragedies as this. Even when times are hard, and you don't know how you're going to get up the next day, hold on to your Heavenly Father. It was emotional for me, even though I wasn't close to him, but I still felt that sadness that emanated through that room. It was hard to see so many young kids deal with such a hard issue. He will be deeply missed and I wish his family peace and love from all those around them!

weekend of goodbyes

This weekend, Todd's Brother Jeremy moved to Oklahoma to be closer to his son Austin. We are sad that he moved away, but are happy that is gets to be closer to his son.
Lily LOVES Jeremy. He is always so fun and Lily loves to play with him. I think he was sad to leave Lily. So they played a lot on the last day.
Lily also got to play with her cousin Robbie. Now that they can both crawl, there was some definitely wrestling going on. Robbie still did circles around her, but not for long.
To say goodbye, we all went to dinner at Chili's. It was yummy. Lily tried her first Lemon... it was funny....

It's official...

Lily has officially started crawling. The dreaded day has arrived! It's nice that she can get around more and become more and more independent, but that also comes with more bumps, and having to keep a closer eye on her. As you can see in this picture, Lily has a big bruise and goose egg on her forehead. Poor thing... She's still kind of slow and is getting a hang of all this moving around, but she definitely has a new rebellious streak in her. Who knew?

Crazy Fun Weekend!

I've been meaning to blog all week about this last weekend, but all this fun loan stuff for the house has kept me busy! This past weekend Todd and I went up to SLC for a fun friends weekend. It was a much needed break. It started out Friday night it was the Liv International Sxinney Mist Launch. AWESOME night! I learned so much about the product and what it can do for us, I was completely shocked that one product can help with so many things, in a natural light. All the way from weight loss, stress, to fertility. I'm all pumped about the product now and I can testify that it works!
Saturday morning we were able to go visit Todd's friend Jimmy and his new baby boy Jae. He is ADORABLE! It was so fun to hold him. He's so little, it was a good reminder of where Lily has come from. I stole this picture from their blog, but I think he's so stinking adorable!

The rest of Saturday I spent with my Girlfriends from High School while Todd hung out with Jimmy and Mikensi, his wife. We started out at the cheesecake factory and then went shopping and tried on some WEIRD glasses at Claires. We finished it off at Temple Square of course on the hottest day of the year. We about died but I'm glad to report we made it! We had so much fun and I was great seeing everyone.

THis is the traditional bride-groom spot, but I like the view.

Jamie, Katelyn, and Me. It was so warm but we were enjoying our photo shoot! :)

WE HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED!

It's official, our offer was accepted, and the closing date is August 15th! I can't believe that in a month,we will have a HOUSE! That is NUTS! My dad is coming down this morning to inspect it, so hopefully nothing will go wrong in that area, but we're so excited to move in! I'm already planning what to do with the house. It's exciting for me! It's exciting to think that Lily will spend her first birthday in a HOUSE! Not an apartment! Woo hoo!

Hopefully our New Home!

This is a house out in Enoch, just north of Cedar City, that we have fallen in love with! It's three bed 2.5 bath and is on a .5 acre! It's beautiful! We never thought that a home like this could be in our price range and are so excited that it is! We're going to be putting an offer down on it on Monday! Cross your fingers and hope that it's accepted!

Our 4th of July

Lily right after she got ready for the day, she knew it was going to be fun!
The end of the day, right before the fireworks! They never saw it coming!
Our little family celebrating! We had such a fun time! We spent the first half of the day in Richfield and were able to see a lot of old friends! I miss you guys! It was fun to see all of you though! And then we traveled to Milford to spend it with Todd's family! They were a lot of fun and we laughed all throughout the day! It was a fabulous way to celebrate our freedom! Lily didn't even get scared from all the fireworks! She was actually just trying to sleep and they kept waking her up, it was cute!
